This Holiday season we were able to shop for gifts for 230 kids and their families at Stevenson Elementary School! We had about 15 gifts left at 5:00 tonight and gave them to the Eastside Domestic Violence Shelter which is currently supporting several students. We were extremely lucky to be able to give back to these kids during the holiday season.
United Way of King County's 2010 Day of Caring was an amazing day of hope, unity and action. More than 10,000 people spent the day volunteering schools, parks and nonprofits, and the estimated value of volunteers' labor was $1.3 million!
We had the opportunity to clean, paint, repair & refurnish transitional housing for homeless youth, women & veterans.
The Day of Caring was an incredible day of hope & a lot of fun. We look forward to being a part of this great day for years to come!
Taking a tour of the United Way Headquarters in Downtown Seattle right now...Kinda cool to see this big banner hanging up in the rafters! Had to snap a shot on my phone...
