Tony Bacon of the Bacon Family Foundation presents a check to Kathy Haggart, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue.

Bellevue, WA. -

The Bellevue Boys & Girls Club doesn't have its new building yet, but it did receive a $35,000 donation from a “fund-a-need” match offered through the Bacon Family Foundation, a long-time benefactor of the BBGC.

That was part of the surprise news Saturday night at the club’s annual Auction. About 450 people attended the event which raised $460,000.

Boys & Girls Club President & CEO Kathy Haggart said the matching gift was announced just minutes before the auction started on May 14. Tony Bacon of the Bacon Family Foundation informed her they would match any donation made by those in attendance at the auction.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue currently operates 14 sites within the City of Bellevue including 2 Main Clubhouses, 7 sites in schools, 3 sites in Public Housing Complexes, and 2 dedicated Teen Center.

The Club continues to explore new avenues of outreach and is currently discussing relocation or renovation of the Main Clubhouse facility.
